The Revenant >> 30s Review

Hugh Glass is a frontierman who gets severely injured in a bear attack. His confidant John Fitzgerald assumes he'll die so he buries him alive, and kills his son too.

Will Hugh be able to survive the odds - tough terrain, severe climate, hostile Indians and his injury - and track down Fitzgerald, and avenge his son's death?

Rating: Green - a period film that takes you back into the 1800s Americas - well made, with superb acting. Worth a watch!

The Big Short >> 30s Review

The housing market in the US has seen a boom like never before! But not everyone thinks it is going to last... an eccentric, all-powerful hedge-fund manager Michael Burry, decides to bet against the big banks, and invest into his forecast of the failure of the housing market.

The news spreads - while most think he is a crackpot, the Frontpoint partners and Jared Vannett believe he is right.

Will they be proven right or will they lose all they have?

Rating: Green - a gripping movie about the mid 2000s sub-prime market crisis that brought the global economy to its feet. It is based on the book 'The Big Short'. Great acting and awesome storytelling make this a must watch!

Jesse and Celine have been married for 9 years now and have twin daughters. An author friend has invited them to Greece - and they are here for a vacation. As the vacation ends, and it is time for Jesse's teenage son to go to the States, he starts thinking about his life's decisions.

Will this romantic love story fall apart as life's realities set in?

Rating: Green - for a very realistic depiction of a relationship. There's a lot of talking in the movie, but that is what keeps you hooked - as you sense love in the amazing chemistry between the two lead actors!

The Hateful Eight >> 30s Review

John Ruth, the bounty hunter is headed towards Red Rock, to have his captive Daisy Domergue hanged. On the way he gives a ride to Major Marquis Warren, also a bounty hunter and Chris Mannix, who claims to be the new Sherrif of Red Rock.

Caught in a blizzard, they decide to stay at Minnie's Habberdashery, but she's not there. Instead there's a bunch of unfamiliar faces. Something is fishy.

Will John succeed in having Daisy hanged?

Rating: Green - a classy Tarantino movie - with lots of blood in it. A suspense thriller that's worth a watch!

Rating: Green - a brilliant murder mystery that keeps you thinking right till the end.

Apparently, for getting into a manage-a-trois with their research assistant Olive Byrne. Elizabeth gets a job as a secretary while William authors books hoping something would be successful in getting him some money/job.

Then he gets an idea - to create a comic book character - about the perfect woman! The character is formed by bringing together the strengths of his two lady loves together. And she's called 'Wonder Woman!'

Will Wonder Woman help them get out of their lives of misery? Will they be able to live happily together?

Rating: Green - a gripping movie about the real lives of William, Elizabeth and Olive. It captures the rise of the creators of the first lie detector machine, followed by their fall as the world comes to know of their illicit relationship, and then their rise again after the creation of Wonder Woman! …

The Hitman's Bodyguard >> 30s review

Michael Bryce is a former AAA rated executive body-guard, whose reputation is in tatters because of the death of one of his clients. He blamed his then girl-friend Amelia Roussel for the leak which also destroyed that relationship. But he's got a chance!

Roussel's entire team of elite armed forces has been killed while transporting Darius Kincaid, an imprisoned hitman, for a testimony against the tyrant president of Belarus in the International Court of Justice. The only person she can trust to be able to do the job is Michael.

Will Michael be able to keep Kincaid alive and get him to the court in time?

Rating: Yellow - a decent action comedy that will serve as a great time pass. Go watch it!

Alan Milne is a successful playwright. However, after returning from his duty in World War I he seems to be suffering from war related PTSD. He wants to spread a message against war to the world through his work. To 'think' he moves, with family, to a country home near the woods.

While there he develops a deeper relation with his son Christopher Robins which results in the creation of 'Winnie-The-Pooh' - one of his most famous influential works (and probably one of the most influential in human history.) But this work, sadly, leads to problems in the life of Christopher Robins, as all of a sudden his world has become public, and everyone wants a share of it! He wants to run away from it so enlists for war.

Will he return alive? Will he be able to save his real life from being taken over by the 'reel' one?

Rating: Green - a well-made movie about Winnie-the-pooh, its author and its inspiration. Touching upon the delicate relationship of a father and son torn away…

Justice League >> 30s review

Super-man is dead, but the world is still in trouble - even bigger trouble this time. Bat-man works with Wonder-woman to get a team together to fight the biggest threat to the existence of humans so far!

Will they succeed?

Rating: Yellow - a run of the mill action-hero flick.. with lots of action and little sense. A good time-pass nevertheless.

Rating: Yellow - a great time pass full of action and amazing visuals like a typical Marvel movie. And, that's why a yellow - just another marvel movie following the same plot of a broken hero rediscovering himself.

A major storm on Mars hits the NASA mission team there. The team runs onto the ship to leave but Mark (Matt Damon) is hit badly - the team assumes he's dead and leaves without him. But he's not.

Now, he must find a way to stay alive till help arrives - and, also, he will have to find a way to communicate with the command center to make sure that's not after 4 years.

Will he survive? Will help reach him in time?

Rating: Green - for an unusual plot, great screenplay and special effects.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith >> 30s review

Anakin (Hayden Christensen) is now deep in grief, well on his way to the dark side when Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) lends him a hand - by offering to save Padme (Natalie Portman) from death. After saving Palpatine from Mace (Samuel L. Jackson) he joins him to lead the armies of what is now the 'Galactic Empire' and destroys almost all the Jedis.

Where will this betrayal of his own lead him? Will he be able to save Padme?

Rating: Green - one of those rare movies where your favorite good guy turns into the most evil of them all. With best in class visuals and action - this movie is a must watch!

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones >> 30s review

Count Dooku (Christoph Lee) is leading a separatist movement which threatens the galactic republic. To fight him the creation of an army is being proposed - and Senator Amidala (Natalie Portman) is in Coruscant to vote. However, Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) discovers that a clone army has already been created in Kamino. On the other hand Anakin's (Hayden Christensen) mother is murdered by the Tusken Raiders.

Will the clone army help the Jedis to win against Dooku's droid army? Will Anakin be able to get over the grief of losing his mother?

Rating: Green - continuing the amazing series - this is another great movie. With even more action and better graphics.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace >> 30s review

Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) rescue Queen Amidala of Naboo (Natalie Portman) from the droid army. They land on Tatooine to get parts for their ship where they come across a young boy - Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), around whom the force is unusually strong. Upon reaching Coruscant, the queen tries to plead her case in the senate, but grows frustrated with the corruption there. She decides to return to Naboo and fight the battle there.

Will the people of Naboo win? Will Anakin be able to become a Jedi?

Rating: Green - a well-made movie that keeps you gripped onto it till the very end. This is the first movie to bring modern day VFX to the Star Wars series and, is a delight to watch!

Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke (Mark Hamill) manage to free Han (Harrison Ford) from Jabba the Hut (Larry Ward). But soon they come to know that a new, more powerful Death Star has been created. They will have to destroy it otherwise there will be no way to stop the Galactic Empire.

Will the rebel forces under Luke's leadership be able to achieve the feat?

Rating:Green - just as the first two movies of the series, this is also one of the few sci-fi movies that don't feel dated - thanks to a great storyline and amazing acting. In fact a lot of what was mere imagination then, is now reality.

They find refuge in the cloud city under Lando (Billy Dee Williams). Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), meanwhile goes to Dagobah looking for master Yoda's help to study the force.

Darth Vader (David Prowse) connives with Lando to capture Leia and Han (whom he carbon freezes). Will Luke return to save them? Will he succeed?

Aladdin >> 30s review

Aladdin, a street urchin, is smitten by the love of Jasmine, the princess of Agrabah, just like everyone else is. To win her love he must become a prince himself. And, that is now possible considering he now has the magic lamp and its genie.

But the evil magician Jafar is out to take over Agrabah and marry Jasmine. Will he be able to save her?

Rating: Yellow - an animated version of the age old story - with its western materialistic interpretation. If you want to tell your kids the story of Aladdin - tell them the Arabic/Asian version - that emphasizes more on the elements of humanity than magic and riches. The movie is a decent time-pass nevertheless.

Bee movie >> 30s review

Barry just got graduated out of college to find that for his entire life now he'll be doing just one job - making honey. For a change he joins the pollination jocks for a day to see the human world. There he almost got killed, but for Vanessa who saved his life. Soon both develop a friendship.

However, when Barry comes to know that humans eat the honey made by bees, he sues them - which has a 'butterfly effect' leading to a natural disaster. Will Barry be able to amend his mistake and save the world?

Rating: Yellow - a decent, fast movie - that you can watch with your kids.

Monsters, Inc. is the power generation company of Monstropolis. It generates power by capturing the energy in the screams of human children. Sulley is the best scarer of them all.

However, there's a twist. Children are supposed to be toxic to Monsters and one day when a baby 'Boo' follows Sulley through the closet door, things get crazy in Monstropolis. Will Sulley be able to safely return Boo to her home?

Rating: Green - a fresh story, with amazing animation work and screenplay. Must watch with your kids!

Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) a famed werewolf hunter has been requested by the villagers to save them, but even he hasn't seen anything this powerful. He notices that the werewolf has something to do with Valerie, as it is her that he wants.

Will he be able to save Valerie and slay the werewolf?

Rating: Green - a brilliant take on the ages old tale. With great acting and gripping screenplay, this is a must watch.
