The Double >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Simon (Jesse Eisenberg) is working as a clerk. He is dedicated and brilliant in what he does and has some big ideas - but his timid and reticent personality makes him invisible to everyone. Even to Hannah (Mia Wasikowska), the girl he secretly loves.

And, then his bosses hire James (Jesse Eisenberg) who is exactly the same physically, but totally the opposite in personality - he is assertive and flamboyant, and does no work. He uses Simon to do everything, takes the credit, takes his girl - basically takes on all the good things in his life.

Rating: Yellow - a well-made art movie. For those who love to watch movies that are different, this is a must-watch. But, if you are looking for a typical commercial movie, this one may not suit your taste.

Gangs of Wasseypur >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Shahid Khan (Jaideep Ahlawat) is a mining laborer who becomes a muscleman for the local politician Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia). His aspirations rise and he wants to kill Ramadhir and take his place, but Ramadhir comes to know and gets him killed.
What follows is three generations of gang war which sees murders, murders and murders.

Rating: Green - Anurag Kashyap fails to disappoint you one more time, alongwith Majoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. A movie with a truly rustic setting, colloquial language and characters that feel real. If you ever want to watch a gangster movie - this should be the first one on your list.

Furious 7 >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) is out to avenge for his comatose brother Owen - Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the rest of his crew are in some serious trouble.

And, while this is on a group of terrorists is out to capture the most lethal cyber-weapon of all - God's Eye. Will Dominic and his crew be able to save the world and themselves?

Rating: Green - for the stunts. They're just awesome - in terms of originality and implementation. Then, of course, put Jason Statham or Bruce Willis in an action movie and they just raise the temperature. This one has the former.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Byomkesh Bakshy (Sushant Singh Rajput) is looking for a way to earn a living in the Calcutta of the second world war period. A college-mate approaches him seeking help to find his missing father.

To earn a quick buck he takes up the case. Before he knows, he is in the middle of international gangs of drug smugglers who have managed to use him as a pawn in their bigger plans. Will he be able to turn the tables and take control?

Rating: Green - for being swift and doing justice to the legend that Byomkesh Bakshy is. Sushant Singh Rajput may not be Rajit Kapoor, but he holds his own. And, Neeraj Kabi, playing a character with multiple shades of personality is the one to really watch out for in the movie.

Trainwreck >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Amy (Amy Schumer) is heavily into being a 'modern chick' - getting high and having indiscriminate sex. The roots of her behavior lie in her disturbed childhood - the divorce of her parents due to infidelity.

Then work makes her meet Aaron (Bill Hader), a celebrity sports doctor. He's the good guy she's totally fallen for. And, vice-a-versa. But will she be able to commit?

Rating: Green - well, majorly because of Bill Hader and Amy Schumer - they are totally into their roles - nerdish but pleasant doctor, and, childish columnist.

A Girl Like Her >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
South Brookdale High School has just ranked amongst the top schools in the US. Everybody is celebrating. But, 16 year old Jessica Burns (Lexi Ainsworth) has landed up in coma, after a suicide attempt.

Amy Gallagher (Amy S. Weber) had come to make a documentary about what makes this school the best public school. Instead, she ends up trying to resolve the mystery behind Jessica's suicide attempt, and in the process surfacing a dark side of the schooling system - bullying.

Rating: Green - a gripping story makes a well made movie. The movie not only looks at the pain that the bullied undergoes, but also looks at the perspective of the bully and what makes her that. And, this is exactly what makes it a must-watch - no-one is demonised - there is depth in all characters.

If you are the parent of a young child/teenager, or, a teenager yourself, you must watch this movie.

Krrish 3 >> 30 seconds Review and Trailer

Image
Rohit Mehra (Hrithik Roshan) and Krrish (Hrithik Roshan) are once again out to save the world. Rohit - by trying to discover the secrets of Jaadu's powers and Krrish - by protecting his father and his discoveries and inventions.
But this time things get personal as Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) creates an army of mutants and kidnaps Priya (-nka Chopra).

Rating: Yellow - an okay timepass. But. still far from potential. With all the special effects they've still not been able to meet Shaktimaan standards. It's time the Roshan's figure out if they want a truly Indian superhero or one modeled on the western counterparts.
